We have a race on the Sunshine Coast on the 20th of November that we would like to have as many entrants as possible at. The Race will be at Coolum QLD. The main sponsors behind the race are the Guys (Luke and Hayden) at Ocean Addicts, Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast and also the Golden Days Festival. There is over $5000 in cash and prizes to be won and given away at the competition.
You can even win a Naish Nalu SUP Board by just entering and participating in the race. Anyone can be a winner.

There are many prizes as listed on the poster. Check them out. Sponsors have promised that if we make this years event big that the prize money will increase next year.
Registration for this event is free but for insurance purposes all participants will be required to be a financial member of the Sunshine Coast Stand Up Paddle Club if they are not already. This method though innovative has been approved by Surfing Qld and is cheaper on participants than having a stand-alone insurance policy for the event. To assist in reducing the price we have reduced the cost of membership to $30 for anyone participating in the event. Plus on top of getting to go in this race which will be facilitate by members of the club, you have 12 months membership to participate in the Sunshine Coast Clubs Surf Comps and BOP style races each month. We would love to see you come along when ever you are on this coast.
To register please complete the forms named below. These will be available on the above link as of Wednesday 24th of August.

Hey Crew,
I have been asked if we will let 14fters race in the Ocean Addicts BOP race.
My intention was to try and keep this a pure "BOP style race" and keep the rules and regulations in line with what is going on around the world.
So the decision is to keep the main race 12.6 only.
However if enough people are interested we could consider a unlimited division and run it as separate race all together around the same course.
So if your keen to race a bigger board let me know.
Luke
Entertainment that will be on the beach during the races includes:
The world's first Green Surf Jam surfed on wooden surf boards shaped by master craftsman Tom Wegener. Tom will be doing demonstrations on how to shape his boards. This is open to anyone who wants to join in and try these boards out.
There will also be:
Giant Kites on the beach.
Sand Sculpting lessons and treasure hunts for the kids
Skate Jam in the skate park
Eco Village : Great tips and info on how we can look after the world a little better.
Lots of live music from local artists and special guests ??
We will finish the weekend off with a movie on the big screen.
I hear a number of the crew fro the Goldie are interested in coming up. This is great news. Would be great if we could get some from the NSW and Vic up as well.
Cheers
Swanie
Hey Swanie, will you have to buy tickets for the Golden Days Festival or can competitors sneek in or get a discount?????
Hey guys, have some leave from work before Mambo so might make a trip north with this race as an excuse to do so.....can you tell me how long it takes these days from the Goldy to Coolum ?.....haven't been north of Brisbane since 1993 and assume roads are better now.
Thinking of staying on Goldy and just coming up for Race Day - would it be maybe 2 1/2 hours Goldy to Coolum ?
I'm loving competing even though I'm finishing at the back of the pack.
Thanks.
Ryan, We are currently aiming at a 9:30am race meeting with a 10am start to the first race. With Opens, Over 40's and Tag Team there will be close to 3 hours of racing.
Maybe an 14' class if there is enough interest.
Surfanimal. 2.5 hours will cover the distance.
Jonsey. The music on the Sunday is free. The big concert on the Saturday is a paid event and ends at 10pm so you are still fresh to race.
