Hi to all the tassie guys, just wanting to know what would be the best month of the year to try and score waves on the east coast down there especially the rheban, orford, swanport area. Had a trip down there last year in february so got to have a good look around but didn't luck into any swell. Am wanting to go again just need to decide on what month, any advice would be great.

The area that you're targeting is a bit random
I've been surfing Tas since 1967 (Aug 14)
and if I were you I would base myself at the
Lufra Hotel at Eaglehawk Neck and be prepared
to travel 30 minuets in any direction from there.
If you don't get a wave every day it's because
you left your board at home .. any month.

ENJOY

Yep, lower east coast can be fickle, you could go for a month without any waves, but when it's on there are plenty of good options, north of Bicheno is way more regular, or as 2MT said Lufra at eaglehawk neck won't let you down

Thanks guys for the info, i just love it down there but can't convince the wife to make the move (something about the cold).I mentioned that particular area as i have a dream spot that i want to try and catch on, but its very swell specific and very fickle and very little info is available about it, but i have seen some footage and am keen to surf it.
It's probably a spot that the locals don't rate and i doubt that it gets big at all but it reminded me of a couple of spots in Sri Lanka and i have become obsessed
(it does have a name but i would not use it) , any way cheers again guys.

I know the spot Logman. I have been watching it whenever I have been in the land of Tas.

ive got a secret spot too that I want to get back to, but I will need some bolt cutters to get through the fence.
