Thanks for that AA.... good to see them side by side.

I'm planing my winter board.... it's either lose weight and use my 8'10.... or jump up a size.

I bet that 9'5 is an interesting ride.

Saw your vids riding the 8'10......you looked like a winner.........but maybe a bit trickier in unsettled wave lumps and bumps?
I would be a 9'5 guy

Rick I move between the 8'5 and the 8'10 Speeed at 92kg so I can pass on the differences to you which I am guessing relates to the 8'10 and 9'5 for you when suited up for winter. The 9'5 is of course a wider/thicker/longer version of the 8'10 with the same attributes, based on rider weight.

The 8'5 is my choice when it is smooth, smaller and glassy. I find it harder to catch waves (lets face it the 8'10 is basically cheating),
but once on the wave the 8'5 is livelier and quick.

That said, it is not that much livelier. I believe this because these boards are so light that going up a size is not the same as going up a size in some of the more traditional constructions.

I am most comfortable on the 8'10 and I find I can get into position better when it is bumpy or choppy. On a wave the board is still fast and lively and to be honest I prefer the versatility and wave catching performance of the 8'10 in the variety of conditions that we get here - often bumpy with back wash and plenty of others in the water.
I think once you are suited up for winter the 9'5 would be a great choice.

We will get Sam Watts our store manager (and the STYLE master) out on it soon - he is just over 100kg.

PS: He loves the 8'10 already

Hope this helps.
