No waves no problem , grab a big boat and head offshore...
Lots of fun heaps harder than it looks , but a great day out on the water. If anyone tells you Sups can't surf show them this. Myself and Daniel O'Sullivan on the cameras. Nice job Deem's We got dragged in by a rope and let go , some of the footage looks fast but it's all real time nothing is speed up , average speed about 14 knots behind a 10 tonne 44 foot PLEYSIER game boat.
thats hot. gee once you lost just off centre its game over.
don't let dc see this- he'll be all over you like a rash
sic vid of the guys havin fun. New flat water sport.....
ant it called wake surfing already....
epic vid, decent wake at speed coming from that monster!
can go short with the boards, my dedicated wake surf board is 4"2
Yeah Lace it was a leg pumper , Keahi was all over it. You had to push so hard. Geoff Breen did well 8 weeks out from a broken leg..
Andy we have a bigger boat lined up 70 foot & 40 tonne that does 35 knots
epic gold coast point break perfection.....
great work you ratbags
yewwwww
Yeah you and Jackson should have been there......
Great vid...like the angle from up on the top deck looking down.
Done it a bunch of times on a 4'6" x 1.25" which probably sounds small but I found it easier
than on my regular 6'0" surfboard. Never tried on a SUP though. Looks super fun!
Great vid! Keahi is all over it - love the wake crossover.
We've done it with a 20ft alum boat on the Glenelg River with a mate's 9'10" psh hull paddler (I think). I was so keen to have a go but unfortunately the only licensed skipper at the time.
Thanks for the wraps and just had a call from channel 9 , they are going to show the Von Piros wave machine video . They will also be crossing live to me to talk about it.
Gold Coast channel 9 news tonight...Stoked.
Bravo piros, freaking brilliant looking fun. Sups, shortys all having a blast. Could you pick my crab pots up the next time you all cruise past nom nom
wake surfing is hell fun ..used to do it on a 4 foot board with tiny fins super easy to slide around as you cant really do proper turns on a bigger board so much fun that brings back good memories .... would love to try again someday now boat less ., and super jealous!!
Cool edit Rob and stoked for the channel 9 news coverage
We used to do it as grommets towing behind a punt on our shortboards. We took the inshore option where you had to contend with oyster leases and mangroves...
Some beaut spills resulted from taunts such as "...dare ya to go the other side of the oyster rack".
Also saw this the other day
