I know everyone is frothing for Round 2 but the forecast has changed somewhat in the last little while to some strong winds from the W and SW looks like plenty of swell. Heres hoping that wind system will slide into the following week a few days. those who know that area what are your predications re wind and waves ? Looks forward to seeing all the usual suspects and the unveiling of Benno's "Panty Liner" (its a board BTW).

The boys will still party. They were seriously talking it up on the weekend, I hope they live up to the banter should be a blast.

Winds from the west and south west are offshore at Denmark so I would have thought that would be good.

No direction of wind is fun on a SUP when it is 20knots + but forecast has improved wind wise it is now showing around 12 -14knots WNW on willy weather now for Saturday morning but the swell is going to be crazy in the 4-5mtr range.

The land is quite high behind ocean beach so the wind shadow goes out a long way.

Also, the swell direction is sth westerly so you will only get what swings around the point, and that's a lot less.
I've had some great surfs there in quite strong westerlies.
Obviously the further you go out the windier it gets but it should be pretty good.
Certainly better than the same forecast with a sth easterly.

Has anyone heard what the banks are like at the mo at Ocean Beach?

hopefully with that swell they should be carved up nicely ??

Totally agree with PhilO.

Even though various swell charts showing between 4-6m today at ocean beach there was hardly a ripple hitting the shore (checked out the webcam before sunset today).
This was due to swell being WSW. With the swell coming around to the SW over next few days it will peel around the point and come into ocean beach.

With that front passing south of ocean beach on Saturday at least the wind should stay W and shouldn`t be too much of an issue IMHO.
Better than being SE, E or NE onshore mush!

Not shure if the world is ready For the panti liner but I've thrown it in only ridden in 2 ft so not shure if it will like over head I'm shure it will

To update you all on the conditions. "Barry's Peach" was about 4ft this afternoon. Offshore with fun waves all over / it was u crowded and the locals that where out where friendly and a great session was had/ the best I have seen it.

we checked ocean beach first and there where no banks and only flat handers.

last time I was dwn here they run the longboard comp In the corner at Ocean beach and I would say that will probably be the case this year

( as it the long boarders and sups combined comp)

and judging by those photos they can have that spot but unfortunately it does not get better further down

so I echo what has already been said. And hope the comp is at the other spot. ( the lb,s would b happier as swell )
