been paddle boarding in the lake on a 10'6" and also using it in the surf, getting the hang of it in the surf but would like to progress to something smaller. Not sure what size would suit best. Still want something with volume to float me.
i weigh 80kgs and would say ability is beginner to intermediate.
what litre and size would you recommend.
Hi OW. I weigh a smidgen more then you at 85KG and also have just downsized from a 10'6". I got myself a 9'5" Naish Mana and TOTALLY love the board. The mana is 32" wide and 163L.
I also demoed the smaller model 8'5" which I found a bit tippy and for me not that comfortable for cruising. My Mana works perfectly for cruising and for catching small mal type waves. I'm also sure it will go like a rocket in bigger point breaks, once I get a chance. It turns really nice and is just awesome fun.
Good luck and make sure you demo demo demo before buying
Thanks for the info I'm looking at a 9'4" x32" 162 litres, cheaper board ,Waterborn evoke bamboo model. Anyone had any experience with this board. Value for money or not worth looking at, heard some mixed emotions on this board some say you get what you pay for others I've talked to say they love the board. Any views out there.
cheers
Saw the carbon one for $900 !
looked amazing for the price, if you wanted a shorter wider board
Bamboo would have a bit of flex like a normal surfboard though reckon
In the same league as the Mana 9.5, I would recommend a JP Fusion 9.8 x 31 x 152l as a bit of an all rounder. I am 80kegs and it is still my preferred board for really windy/choppy surf and small mushy stuff and is my wifes flat water cruiser. I have a 8.10 JP surf pro to go to when conditions are better.
Hi, I'm looking at a USED JP 9.9 x 32, but was concerned it might be a little to small for flat water. I weigh 70 kg. How do you find it in flat water?
