I moved to the Mandurah area to care for my parents and so grateful that there are decent surf breaks here, and without agro at SUP riders, although I did experience some riding the Point a couple of years ago. I think surfers have become more accepting of different craft now there are foils, some even with motors.
I bought a vacant block about 800 metres from Avalon beach with the aim of building a small, probably 2 bedroom home for my retirement. It has a large Banksia and Sheoak tree on it which I planned to keep. However, my situation has changed and it is for sale. Most people interested in it want to build typical largish homes which means the trees have to go. All of them are just looking for a larger block (it is 751 sq m) and don't value the surf. I see the block as perfect for a single surfer, or couple so thought I would put a shout out here incase anyone is wanting to move here and build a small house. Or even if you are wanting to build a larger one, but I am sad for the trees and the birds that call it home. You can find it online - 28 Peppertree Close.
