We almost made it last year and the feedback on this event was alltime, hey its only a 10hr ish drive so what the heck.
Looking forward to seeing some smoking SUPing and longboaridng as well as catching up with some of the NSW Crew.

Going to QLD titles Phil. Should come up for that, they have a ladies division, BOP race and DW race over the 3 days, all at Currumbin.
Hey Goatie and DTM would have been great to hit Currumbin the Roar Comp was a cracker a few years back, but I have projects to keep an eye on in Sydney that weekend.
Best of luck guys, great to see everyone supporting interstate comps.
Have fun

Hey Dan if your around we'll catch up for a few beers and a bite to eat on Sat night. I rang AA to see what hes doing as well.
I am still playing with my boat engine and the weather does not look cooperative, so might have to drive down. I have no dramas sleeping in my 4wd, but would be stoked if someone had somewhere close, safe and secure I could park over the nights.
I nearly have my boat back togather. If I miss the last weather window Sunday and Monday, it looks like I could be sailing into a low as intense as we got for the Monday of the comp back in 93.
No way would I want to be out there offshore in something like that. The south swell in 93 was that powerful that a freighter entering the harbour nearly ended up on Manly Beach. It dropped anchor a few miles out the back till its bow pointed out to sea then made a run for the ocean. Pity it might hit a bit too early this year?
Oh that is just the first one the guys on a magic seaweed have a later forecast. Have a little look below. I say bring it on. Swell will be up. Wind will be good. But that is still 9 days away. SO things can change in 9 days.
OK Boys whos taking thier SUP out in 16.5ft I didnt see the names Hamilton, Kalama etc on the competitors list. Makes me think there will be lots of competitors sitting on the sand watching.

Shayne,
I have ridden the old 12'1 Ron House Laird at the Bombies off 13th and it rocks in good size theye were very underrated boards.
Manly's one of our locals. South swells tend to go past but a fair bit, but will get in with such a long period. The Bombie absorbs a bit but Manly is renowned for it's big spitting barrels and tricky paddle outs once it gets a bit of size, so should be interesting.
Hey Casso Goatie DTM,
What is your best guess for the weekend?
I have looked at 3 different models and they all say different things
1 says the swell is likely to peak mid week 10 - 12 and then reduce for the weekend 6ft
1 says the swell is likely to hold at about 6-8ft
The other 1 cant make up its mind talks about a futher swell pumping up from below Tasmania?
Best guess please
Phill
Hey Phill, my gut feeling is it will be a bit bigger than head high and pretty clean for both Sunday and Monday. It'll be a bit tricky getting out and we'll be trying hard to find a couple that don't close out (although I haven't seen the banks down there for a while). It'll be drizzling all weekend too - not the best ad for Manly.
Phil , windguru is normally the best site for are local area I tend to look at that but as a guide its normally only acurate about 3 days out.
My guess would be dropping swell left over from the weeks earlier swell I would expect about head high waves, maybe 4 foot max?
I will be around the the weekend also.
anyone entered who isn't able to go let me know. I would be keen with this swell to have a run. cheers.
Hey Pete, give the organiser a ring I think they are short if anything.
Just checked it then about head high and closing out, banks suck here atm, hopefully the big swell chews em out.
I heard they were full and already have a waiting list but give them a bell be good to see you down there Pete ....
Yeah I think the sand will be all gone after wed thurs !!!!
