there might be a chance for a light dw er today if the wind picks up a bit.
yesderday after lunch as quite good
cheers
I'm sitting in the beach park with the kids at Tugun and it looks like it would be fun. Be really good on 1 man to be honest but small whitecaps out there, will be good for you guys.
i was going to have the today off, but ended up doing a run on the 12'6- first time.
interesting -harder to balance and you can get stuck, but boy the zip off pretty quick and i would say you get more runners. probaby because you can accelerate to get on them with less effort.
i wouldn't like to do a long run, but up to 10 k's i will do it more i reckon.
i'm buggered now 4 days, 4 dw paddles plus work, surfing and training- big greasy burger time
Went out to Little Nerang Dam today for a paddle for something different. The Serenity was great , good to get a feel of a board in dead flat water too. This would be a great spot for a flat water race. When i have more time i will definately go again for some more exploring , i rekon with the right wind you would get a good size wind chop on the dam too
Some pics
Crap i didnt even think about the car signageJust looked like a good back drop , forgot to mention im also sponsored by Fanatic , they are going to pay me to stop embarrasing their brand
We used to race outrigger canoes back on the Hinze dam many years ago.(late 90's)
Great spot to race and for spectators and the races were run over a 250m course, and were usually 500m and 1000m in length with turns, and you were in your own lane with turning cans for each canoe to turn around. Usually about 10/12 lanes.
Heaps of fun racing, but bloody hard work doing u turns in a 40 foot outrigger canoe.
You boys don't know how easy you got it only turning a 12'6 board.
