hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows what sort of mounts or setups some of the guys are running where they have like a little pole so the gopro is off of the deck, here is a video of anthony walsh using one at pipe and rob Machardo uses someting similiar in his DWer vid
Rob (Direct x) and Brett (krankiman) have them. I haven't actually seen them but I know they have them. It looks like it stands up about 6 inches, not sure how it is attached though.

I've got a few different mounts depending on what i'm riding. I use the suction cup mount on flat water when using my fanatic board. When surfing on my Naish Hokua I've got an FCS plug installed as the suction cup will get ripped off pretty easily. I would say the guys have a specially modified mount they are using in that video or an FCS plug on the back of the board with an extension to give the GoPro a bit of height. The handle bar mount can also take some great photos when used on your paddle...
