its a tomy blue- like this
Back to a 14" for DW? I'm a big fan of the tomy 12"6 you have done..
andy sometimes i've missed not having a 14'er for longer dw runs or more relaxing runs or sometimes the swells/runs can be at times a bit to stretched out for 12'6
and i just had to know how good it will be. i've had a few big name paddlers on the 12'6 .all liked and all said just make it 14' and don't change anything else when i mentioned doing a 14' version which is what we have done.
i believe this board will be a real dw flier but easier to use than say the ###. the tomy 12'6 still brings a smile when dw ing and low and behold i've had it for 7 months with no intentions of moving it on
cheers
Sounds great and sounds like you are on the money with this 14" then..
Hopefully you go into production and we can get on it too.
I don't need or want to know numbers but I'm assuming getting a custom made like
This is no more expensive than a top brand off the rack yeah?
Thinking it's an option I wanna look into for my next board
Is that Ben in the background I hear he is the new master glasser at DC paddle boards boards taking shape looking the goods
Hi Lacey, this is why you did stop posting those last times,
Good job , looks good, keep on finishing , it will come in beauty.
well the board looks great. we had a hiccup with the edges that were laid up like a surfboard and went a fair way up the board. it was a bit too hardcore and slowed the board so we sanded them softer and further back. we had scope to do that. after all it is a experiment with the edges
took theboard for a few waves yesterday and paddled out in the back wash around the point. felt pretty good out there. surfed and got sucked along by the bumps in front very nicely.
i took it to training this morning and well- im over the moon. started middle back in the warm up. as soon as we sprinted the board came to life in the the cross wash from the paddlers in front. felt like i was dw ing or something. my 12'6 would get washed off track in that but the 114' held its line and seemed to use this energy to go forward
the board loves bumpy water and hunts wakes. charged up the field then sat behind another 14 er. it was very little effort to sit in behind him.
when we turned again the board just kept paddled down other paddlers wakes.
when the gun paddlers came up i just sat in ones wake again cruising
all that tells me the board is going to be a insane dw er
dj, on file at 25. shaped up nd finished 24.5'
kissa yeah i really liked that sic. i was inspired how that went along with other fuller nosed dw boards. the tomy 12'6 has that kind of nose but more surfboard rail shaped for planning- its a dw flier
Looks unreal.
I'll have one thanks!
Need to go into distribution LL Tomy could become a household name in Sup
The 12'6 was good as Thomas the Tank but I think for the 14' we should be christening her as the "Tommy Gun". Might be time to get Dallas to draw up a new decal??
Its the wrong colour Queenslander
that would be a fanatic then
well just had 3 days straight dw ing and the boards goes great guns- very happy . fast, gets the bumps and i can short stroke pump it onto those must get bumps if i have too
now tomy 12'6 has a big brother.
the tomy 14 hasn't put a foot wrong out there, and surfs true which is welcomed on the goldie were we are coming in through surf most times
so much so i'm beginning to think i maybe could have gone 24' wide instead of 25" like the 12'6
cheers
`Hey, looks great - whats the weight like sub 9kg?
no, the 12'6 is. the 14 is 11 kgs. at 14 it need a lot more glass to keep the board stiff and strong.
at 14" that's pretty light
