I've got a 14ft Starboard Ace and I'm looking for someone to paddle with in the Nelson Bay area.

I'm really keen to paddle the Bay and also do some ocean paddling.

Hawks Nest to Soldiers in a NE would be a cracker.

yeah true.

I was thinking Fingal to One Mile in a NE or Fingal to Zenith through the Spit in a Southerly.

With the Winter westerlies about to hit, Soldiers Point to Shoal Bay is a popular run.

Where are you at?

I have paddled the bay for 8 years on both OC and Sup. Soldiers point to Shoal bay on a westerly can't be beaten. I feel like the ocean runs are difficult as they don't line up the greatest but if you have the skills and know how they are still fun. Also shoal bay to Soldiers point is a run that during an easterly can be great fun as it gets better as you go along the bay.

I no longer live there but be sure to get in touch with the outrigger club they paddle out of shoal bay and do a lot of paddling around the heads and islands. You will be surprised how much you will learn, even in the six man canoes about how the ocean works.
