the winter classic on the sunny coast has dropped sup this year in favour of loggers, another comp gone
^ because you guys can't even sort out what size boards to ride in comps
There's been a lot of bagging the organisers of longboard comps,go figure why their dropping you off.Sure come back when you clean up your act.Sorry I'm not brown nosing anyone just stating facts
Edit-truth hurt hmmm
Can somebody tell me how much it costs to enter Sup contests. Of course, prices the comps charge will vary but I am just curious. I find most people who whinge about the cost are just tightar5es.
The Blast series is about $30.
Winter classic is a small club run event that I have been really impressed with for the last two seasons. Organisers do a great job but there are a few nasty old Mal guys that think they own the ocean hence no sup inclusion this year.
Sup surf board restrictions are only an issue for the complainers that don't practice enough. Why restrict board sizes when the good guys spend hours an hours working hard to be able to stand on them.
Now I fixed your red up for ya
Well if your tagging along in a long running longboard comp, you would get better support from the fat old grumpy longboarders who knows some mite join in
As you know 9+ in LB comps,at least both would have one thing in common
I think its a good thing the Winter classic has dropped us!
I organized the SUP division last year and it was bloody hard work pleasing everybody.
The vibe wasn't nice and I feel they weren't happy with me trying to promote the sup's in a longboard comp.
The Winter classic comp is close to my heart and I'll have to pull out the longboard to enter this year
Good....for all those who are whinging its now time to get sup organized. I openly said I was willing to ride whatever size sup is required to compete.
If the longboarder's want to go back to the start and ride 10 footers then people will just have to pump up and ride them. If the sup community can organise sup only events that cater for all sizes then the people who want to compete, pay up, get there and have a go.
I think this subject has been flogged to death. As I said a few months ago I can understand longboarding moving away from sup.
Logging seems to be getting bigger and there's alot of youth riding the boards.
Still would love to hear what direction the bigger name sup company's have for the future of the sport.
Introduce single fin log sups, that will get the young hipstars into it, increase the numbers.Lacey will be all over this, mow and all
if we are gonna tag on to mal comps let ride the boards like mals if you wanna ride a sup like a short board let see how many short board comp invite you. Or as said before lets just do sup comps stop tagging on
oh, it's getting a bit heated in here.
if a mal comp thinks a 10' class might be a good idea and a few of their crew might have a go at it and some sups surfers might be willing to have a bit of fun - let them.
last thing we want to see rabid shorter short sup surfers being marched at gun point to surf a heat on a longer board- the poor bastards
