Hey Breezers
Wanted to share my latest build with you guys.
A 9'4 x 23 3/4 x 3 1/4 modern day flip nose Pig
All Handshaped with a deep nose concave into a small rolled bottom that runs the entire board.A 1/2" red Cedar stringer wrapped in Volan cloth and finished with a a clean polish.
Very well done Locky!design wise I'm curious about a flip nose on a pig ?
Hey mate,
The blank is a Burfords 9'4 k with a nose rider rocker. so it's the flattest rocker for this blank as is.
But the more I looked at it the kick in the last 18" of the nose kicked up a little bit. Pigs really like to be turned off the tail.. So I figured if I flipped it and used that little bit of extra rocker kick it would really help the board turn off the tail.
Besides that it's going to lock the back of the board in the pocket of the wave and help slow the board down when riding the nose.
Have a look at the arse end of a Pig,it's round.Velzy did!
Yes WM a Pig has a round tail, but I think that he more means a Pig as in the hips towards the tail and narrow nose ala Oinkers..
