This is my fav time to be on the east coast. Warm water, SST and land temps very similar so its either glassy all day or we get a light offshore. Early season winter swells start arriving and we also get late season action from the east. Mid-week crowds are low to non-existent and houses are at winter rates to rent. After a week of small waves I could see things were looking good for a few days so decided late Wed night to do a coast run. Left yest at 10:30am and just over 24hrs later I have had 4 surfs - two good and two incredible. Will try and make today a 4 surf day

Here are a couple of shots - low res as sending via my phone hotspot.

Ahaa..Unfortunatly there's not too many unknown spots that are easily accessable here on the Nth Coast...but there are some who really take offence at disclosing even well known areas..
Smorgasboarder Surf mag did an article on the Coffs Coast and several took umberage and got carried away with their behaviour

Even those pics look slightly familier but my lips are sealed...well they will pucker for a glass of reasonable Chateau Cardboard tho

I know of this great little point wave that not many know of that I'll be happy to trade a spot for, all I can say is that it goes by the initials of LM. Keep it to yourself though.

Looks almost identical to what we had on Westernport this morning

We got the best - rain, howling northerly, westerly squalls, more rain.
But it was better than not going!

Close

You get an idea here how the swell really kicked in as the weekend progressed. Some nice waves coming through. I have some video footage that I will try and pull together as the weeks goes on.

It was big bro - I did not even paddle out at dawn - waited for a few other bods to take some punishment and see how bad it was The big sets were solid but folding over on the outside banks as opposed to breaking really hard. The real action was on the inside.

Even found waves at your fav 'clubbing place' on the way home. Fun on the LB

Haha I bet it was, I was thinking it would have been pushing your 8ft limit was some large ones around here...

I looked early and we went somewhere a bit out of the swell. Did think about the drive but wasn't sure if the club was open

Probably 3 times overhead would be my call - some would say 10 ft - I would say time to go find somewhere else to surf or just watch.

Definitely some big ones SP that were well above my comfort range.
