Gday people, I've followed this forum for a while now and see there's plenty of glider riders and Indo visitors sharing their knowledge here.
So I'm hoping someone can share their thoughts or experience on how to get an 11 footer to Bali as the maximum length allowed on any airline is 9 foot ?

Hi mate welcome on board, I've never heard of anybody taking a 11 footer to Bali perhaps the guys in the sup forum may know if theres a way. Keep us updated with any info you come across.

If you have time, you could get your local shaper to turn it into a 2 piece board (carbon compact is the name of one such system).

That carbon compact does look like a great system. I think Sunova uses it for their sup race boards so must be pretty good to keep the boards light and stiff for competition and drastically reduce the excess baggage costs.

The only sup boards I saw in Bali where shorter than 9ft surf shapes
Why a glider? What about a higher volume 9ft board like the Walden Mega Magic?
Only been to Bali once pre covid and be interesting what it's like now.

Agreed, I reckon it sounds ace and solves a long problem for longboarders and suppers. Has to make life easier and cheaper when traveling with a long board.

Don't quote me but I thought I read somewhere on the Sunova website, or heard in one of their videos on the system, that they can pretty much make any of their boards with the carbon compact split board system. Pretty cool.

Hi Chillby,
You might find this thread interesting:

Our brothers in the 666 room dropped the length of board for their get-together because of how hard it is to get 10-foot boards to Bali.
Still, might be some good info and contacts for you there.
Good luck -- you're gonna need it.
