Bought myself this last night - was tossing up between another anchor or xcel when this came up - too good a deal to pass up on . Wondering anybody out there tried the ion wetsuits and what were your thoughts . Thinking with the freight the way is it will be a few weeks before I get to try it .
Tas Did you go the pink?
Some things on this forum you can just rely on.......

Got mine from a supplier in Tas , the select is the top of the range was $609 - got this one half price - last years model . Was looking at the new xcel drylock which retails for 569 . Have a couple of their vests with the TDC lining - very toasty .
Have no experience with the ion suits
...and you actually need a 5/4 in Tassie?! Bugger that
Was chasing a 4/3 , 5/4 Ihave had in the past have been too stiff ,they reckon these are super flexible guess I will find out in a few weeks .
Surfing in fully sealed 3/2 with 2 mm hooded vests and booties atm .So I guess that makes it a 5/2

Pussy
When I was a kid, back when Jesus wore sandles, all I had for winter surfing was a short sleeve vest.
Granted mid winter dawn surf's only lasted a couple of waves or until your lips turned blue and your jaw was locked to stop you shattering your own teeth.
Other than that nice wetty.

, bit the same for me mate - got my 1 st wetsuit when I was about 20 a 4/3 quicksilver steamer
talking to the old blokes ( in their 80 s ) here back in the 60 s they all surfed mid winter in old woollen footy jerseys - must have weighed a ton wet .
then in the 70 s these came out - big improvement but I reckon would be bastards to paddle in - bit spoilt these days
Did you pull the trigger on the wettie?
Report due by now, degraded to a B minus for lateness mate.
Yep early morning surf this morning , raining ,water about 13 degrees , fresh southwesterly blowing , surf **** ( Willys weather lied ) but wanted to try out the suit so jumped in .
this wetsuit is the bomb . surfed for an hour - no leakage , no flush when duck diving , very toasty . Was concerned being a 5/4 would be a bugger to paddle but no dramas .Wrapped to get such a nice suit at a bargain price - Jaysails Hobart great to deal with
Only complaint the chest zip is a bastard to engage .

Sounds the bomb, apart from when you piss in it and it can't flush out.
