I'm looking at swapping my McTavish Noosa 66 (10ft - PU construction) for a Takayama In the Pink (9'3" - Tuflite epoxy construction). Just wanted to get an idea if this is a fair trade or not.
Main reason for trading is that I weigh 68kg and don't need such a big board. I'm just looking to trim and nose ride, and I think the In the Pink will still be good for that.
Both boards have some damage on the nose. Assuming that the Tuflite board has been kept dry since being damaged (I've been told it was damaged while moving and hasn't been in the water since) and that I get it professionally repaired is this anything worth worrying about relative to damage on a PU board?
Appreciate any advice or opinions.

Mate if it means your getting a board that suites you better and they are in similar condition go for it,it often costs a couple of hundred selling and buying the next board.On the damage front,if your dealing with a good repair guy in most cases you will hardly notice the repair if at all.
It would help if you could post a picture of both boards tho!
Looks like your current board is in better condition,however those dings and chipped paint on the Tak will come up fine with the right guy repairing it.
Keep the 66 it looks far better to these eyes.
Plus they are tried and true, Taks were never very popular in Aus.

This will be of no use but in the longboards seabreeze forum we encourage more boards,so keep the mctavish and offer the punter 500 for the Tak.

yeah but I still own 6 on them new one coming in hot Friday.

Nice board mate, yep I would have said keep your board. Doesn't matter if your 68 kg or 98 kg, longboards aren't like shortboards where volume can be an issue for various reasons. You wanna trim & nose ride, looks like a damn fine board for that to me
