Hi,
normaly where I come from, we surf only in wetsuits (unfortunately even in summer). So when I travel and surf in shorts or shorty, after a couple of sessions I get nasty rashes on both of my knees (mainly left - I am regular). Do you have similar experiences and what could help? I already bought some protections and waterproof bandages, but after some wipeouts, they are no more in place and it hurts again...
Any help is welcome.
Thanks

If you are a hairy bloke, try shaving your knee at the contact point. Part of the problem could be the initial irritation from the wax pulling the hairs...

I had a small cut on my knee that got very deep and open from a 2 week surf trip to Bali... even after it healed it was so tender and painful at the old wound site. Bandages and tape fall off after 3-4 waves... so I started using over the counter numbing gel and that made a huge difference.

You could also try wearing one of those elastic knee braces - you know the ones for people with a 'dicky' knee.

Perfect job for a retired wetsuit.... cut the knees out of it. Slide 'em on. Same idea as GPA, but recycling one of your old wetties.

Yep the recycled wetsuit as mentioned is the go but if you dont have one just go to the chemist or ebay and buy a neoprene knee pad.

Geez Mate, a simple knee support from your local chemist should do the job very well, or as the Cobra suggested cut the legs of an old wettie to suit..
