Tom Curren
Welcome back Scotty - we (well definitely me ) have missed you
No great surprise in yr choice
Tom Curren (please note the spelling LL) is the one for me then Shaun at Pipe / Backdoor is a joy to behold as is Gerry. Terry Fitz at J-Bay in some of the old footage is mental. He really was the Sultan of Speed. George Greenough always looks divine - even if he doesn't stand up
Thanks Ted.
Did you get on Manly tonight ?

Hey Tux - how did you run go at the weekend? Did you dominate ?
No domination but I made it to the end in 4:46...too bad for 45km...I might have spied a couple of OK spots to go back and check as well...amazing what you see when your running instead of driving
For me
Occy/MP @ big bells
Gerry Lopez @ pipe
Midget/Joel Tudor @ any waist high peeler
Kelia Moniz on anything anywhere

Well done - great effort. And all the better if you found a new spot or two to hit

Cheers guys....I watched about 15 right handers hit a slabby reef and spit like a cheap date in one spot
well this is going to upset a few.
i cant believe slater is in some breezers choices.
slater the best competitor ... yes, but best style... NO WAY.
technical surfing with great vision... YES.
better styled surfers before him... heaps i say
Showing my age here, Joey Cabell,Billy Hamilton(Matt Johnson) I loved watching Tom Curren, and Lynchy
Being a oldy i would say Tony Hinde and Wayne lynch , had a chance to surf some sesssions with one of them when i was just 14 these guys surfed like they were born in the water, sad that one is not with us now

Yeah I get your point ,,, but some of those backhand barrels at cloud break and Chopes where he barely makes the drop than comes out hands by the side....
Tom Curren's first wave at J-Bay - as told by Sonny Miller
Fluid power surfinghttp://surferspath.mpora.com/video/tom-currens-first-wave-at-jeffreys-bay-from-live-the-search-series.html
Nice find T-Dog - I recall that wave! Jeepers - how big is his board - today he would probably be riding something significantly shorter in equiv waves yet he just through that one round easily enough. You can really see where the Parko top turn came from in that clip.
Yep Ted the long rail line probably accentuates the style on his turns. I am from California but to prove I'm not biased - Buttons and Terrry Fitzgerald also deserve a mention! I am of the Dogtown & Z Boys generation though

Thats true TD..forgot about Fitz..I recall he had a similar style as Lopez..big carves/archs etc.
MR MR MR MR MR MR MR MR MR. Tudor is smooth and centres his weight well over the board, as does Slater. Did I mention MR? Best ever and a top bloke.
