I've known since I sold my fireball & only had the 10' redline that my surfing was suffering, nothing wrong with the redline just not an all rounder.
After talking with asea & seeing his Astro log I gave Gary Burden from Astro a call & ordered a board. He's a top bloke who knows his stuff, he asked me all the appropriate questions to guide him on the style of board he needed to shape.
9'8" x 23-1/2"x 3-3/8" triple cedar stringers, resin tint & hand shaped 8" center fin.
Rode it the last 2 days & it seems very forgiving, paddles really well too.
Gary Burden with the board.
Told you guy's its a great looking board and what about the finish wow its amazing and a lovely colour too boot.
Only one question that Gary guy looks very much like asea minus 100 kgs
edit- did I see concave sweet as[}:)]
Nice board mate. Triple stringers look nice.I remember Gary Burden from a few comps years back. He came from Sydneys Northern beaches I think. Good surfer too.
mac as doggie witnessed today I think that concave saved a nose dive, on the takeoff the nose was about 3-4" under water & it just nosed itself back up & kept going.
Just need to get to some decent waves now.
nice stik.
Try her as a single some time, she'll probably go just as good with slightly better wave entry.
Nice board Vanders,Gary gives his best and as i said i've now ordered my 4th board in a year from him.
mac, what is it with all these Bali animals?, first cows, then dogs, then cats and rats...and now chooks??
have to be calling you ol mac donald if u keep this up
edit: good lookin board vanders.
I liked Roger Ramjet; he became an American hero by being a user of performance enhancing drugs, what could be more Apple Pie than that?
I wish I could pop a Proton Energy Pill that gave me the strength of 20 atom bombs for a period of 20 seconds and then go out and dispose of a Noodles Romanovskyish opponent, or perhaps even a 10 foot plus swell.
