Ted Lacey and I did on Sunday, nothing like the clip but 2 too 3 foot fat take off out the back and sucked up halfway in,as I said to Lacey that was the best fun I've have in a long time,Kirra is nowhere near its full potential but its been breaking for a while now after sleeping for years.
I wonder who got smoked at the 45 second mark
Nice work Mac. Surfed it back in 2000 at 4ft with a few bigger ones. Was absolutely incredible. Will never forget that session. We managed to fluke it - 25 people when we paddled out - within 15 mins about 15 of them had gone in and for the next 1.5 hrs it was absolutely incredible.

i have a Question for you gold coasters
Why is it called the gold coast
golden sand mate
golden shower maybe
www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/council/council-history-408.html
Following World War II, the name Gold Coast was first used by the Brisbane newspaper when they referred to the real estate opportunities here. The name appealed to many leading local business (soon to be real estate moguls) and civic leaders. On 23 October 1958 the South Coast Town Council adopted the name Gold Coast Town Council. The State Government approved the local authority name of City of Gold Coast on 16 May 1959. However, the Queensland Place Names Board did not officially gazette this place name until April 1980.
when i think about the gold coast an image comes to mind.
Hahahaha and that farken dog yeah that's right
wave of your life- maybe. a few major beatings is assured. a intimidating wave at size. you wonder how your going to drop down a drain pipe.
the rip is insane. it just wears you down to the point where you don't have the arms to get that wave you've been paddling for. your not in the game against guys getting 'lifts' back out which I might add is against the law- having skis around people
its hard to pick which ones are going to hold up and be the 'ride' and those that just shut down- and that's looking from the beach.
the world just goes around when you get that pearler. I've been out there in building swells - unreal, hours, but absolutely spent.
but as with all goldie points theses days its crowded and dangerous, full of desperate frill seekers prepared to get their waves at cost of common sense.
and if kirra gets big you need to know what the hell you are doing- no place for average surfers like most of us in breezeville
