Anyone know anything about them ? Can you still buy em , couple of websites on internet seem to have em but not sure if they legit or just old sites ?
picked up a 2nd hand mct that has em , one fin seems a bit loose
I guess could just take em off and get some old school
glass ons put in
Managed to tighten them up they rock solid now. Actually looks like a decent fin system can adjust fin position .
board has cleaned up well, nice to finally own a Oz made mctavish
swell coming Friday giddy up
thanks for the responses uncle and Mac appreciate it
Yes mate, kinda weird but allows you to move em around like 1cm adjustment either way . Screwed in from deck side
from what I can tell they were around in like 2005 era which must mean it was shaped around then
I don't remember those fins even in that era but it says al Merrick model on em so they must have been relatively prevalent ,
only issue is if I lose one I'm stuffed (unless uncle finds some)
Awesome fin system. Shat on FCS.
They were made in the USA by block surf. Supposedly he still has some in storage you can order.
Nice board tooo. Carvers are fun.
Yeah $$ in marketing. I think gorrila grip bought FCS and smashed them.
They were a great system, super strong, little bit of forward and back movement but ultimately beaten by the sales team.
So surfed the board, first time on a true mid length
I'm a convert , float and paddle power awesome and turns on a dime
Redx fins in McT Fireball ..
Getting a remake soon. Are they a collector's item cause the board is past its use by date.
You can still get copies of them. They are plastic and prone to snapping though. Keep an eye on screw as they do loosen and you won't want it to drop into the ocean.
Sorry Capt no fins. Been scratching around looking for them & remembered I'd given them to nephew who got an old carver,
