Hi everyone, new to the forum
wanting to get my first noserider/all rounder and need some advice on shape and dimensions.
Also need a lot of paddle power, turn off the tail, and some speed when I need it.
current board is 8'6" 22 3/4 x 2 3/4, not getting it done as ive piled a few kg on over the becoming 30 and entering fatherhood years. 178cm + 105kg and too many injuries to list.
Also feel free to list some shapers who produce the goods
Speak to your local shaper, he'd have more knowledge of your needs and local conditions than anyone on sea breeze.

Good advice welcome to the forum.
My 2 cents is forget a Noserider, chase the all rounder as you say turns off the tail but it must be a square tail shape.
At 105 kg mention the following dims to you shaper, 9.6 x 23 x 3 or 3 1/8 for you paddle power, let us know what you come up with.
McTavish Fireball will get the job done.
9'6 x 23 x 3+
It'll never let you down.
A Jackson 'Mod Log' or Carabine 'Nick Off' are both amazing allrounders if you want something less mainstream and are in Sydney or the NSW south coast.
Where are you located ?
Thnx so far with the replies. I'm in Southern WA.
Looking at custom design, as the board will be a anniversary present
I think an all rounder is the way to go also, but will too much volume take away the turning abilities? What sort of rail setup do you guys like for all rounders?
Hi look up Clear Water Steve Del Rosso he has a shop over in WA the board will not disappoint you as I have had many longboards shaped by him
Thanks asea
but just out of enjoyment in the experience of board design and custom ordering I would like to know of some other options and I don't mind shipping.
Anyone riding Vern Jackson boards - hammerhead ?

Guess he just told you Asea
Didn't say I'm not going to contact them (Clear Water) Macaha...
Simply enjoy the chase and would like to discuss, as forums are created for, and thought there might be a few members on here that also like this topic of discussion
Gotta agree, Del Rosso is your man, I'm your weight, plus another 5 or so, Steve made me a hot log, 10'2 x 24 x 2.5 was a good wave catcher, and the guy I sold it to is just a big as me and the board has transformed his surfing.
I can't ride a square tail, but that's just me, everyone else on the planet is fine with them, and you will be too.
Good thing about a local shaper is having a better understanding of your local waves...but +1 for SDR, bloody good shaper
Whalebone is a good allrounder...but there is a new'ish shape SDR is doing that has a lot of good feedback. I can't remember the name of the design, but it has a couple of fliers & concave action through the fins. That is something SDR does very well, not only a good outline, but great bottom contours. Comp boys are loving it.

Macca model onto my 4th
If you want to Noseride, SDR Hotlog, whatever dims he suggests as he knows his sh1t way more than any of us... His boards are sick and way underpriced. My 10' Hotlog is so beat up now but it's still my go to and surfs from .5" to overhead...

Hey Buddy.
Steve Del Rosso in Perth
Ross at Soul in Scarborough
Mark Ogram in Dunsborough, via Yahoo Surfboards
and Warren Thompson in Denmark
All will shape you an awesome stick "around the 9'5" x 23" 3" mark and do a great job. Give them a call and hear them out and you'll quickly "Align" with one of them. If you're on the South Coast of WA Warren is probably the best bet as he's intimate with the waves down here where as the others aren't.
Thanks Surf69 I'm going to give Warren and Ross a call also. Like you say Mark on he South Coast and will know the same waves I know! Cheers ??

Nice yeah, Mac 10 or something like that, a mate who is one of SDR's team riders is loving it
Just an update since the weekends discussion and helpful tips. Steve Del Rosso gave me a call today (I emailed him on Sunday) and we had a great chat about all things longboard plus a heap of fishing to top it all off! Was a great chat and he has suggested the Macca model in 9'2" x 23 x 3. So now I'm bloody excited about getting it ordered.
does anyone have some pics of their Macca model? Be great to see some pics. Can't find any on the google machine

I had a 9' ocean blue board once, I would give it a 8 out of ten.
good value for money
great shape
just lacked durability but in saying that it was more a performance board.
I think Feral Dave is still making boards, but hes' in Bali more than Gold Coast now. Google 'em.
I have a Diverse 10'1" 23 1/8 x 3 1/4 I think.... squashed square tail that does all that you want it for. Well, it would if I could ride it as well as could be ridden. Others who have ridden it reckon it's pretty good. Even OB, though he'd never tell ya.....
It's 94 litres in volume... as the old motoring saying goes, there is no substitute for Cubic Inches.
