Nice Toobz nice! When you were talking to Gaz, did you ask for a high performance midlength or a step up? How did the conversation go? I am curious because I can't work out what you have from the photos, looks seriously fun tho!
Just get on the phone to Gaz already!
Any pics of your new shooter?

Nice, looks a bit eggy. Good way to get that easy paddle by keeping the nose width too..

It does in this photo. But it is reasonably pulled in at the tail

Wide thick tails are ****. Rails and tails are for turning. Wide and thick just makes it harder.
Exception is the fish I guess but even then too wide is ****

They do look a bit eggy but they are more HP when you touch and feel... Very much a step up for the SB guy than a shorter craft for LB guys... Having not surfed an SB for years though I jumped on my buddies and had no probs at all... Paddles in easy, turns vertical real easy and has plenty of acceleration.
I found it way better than a lot of other production boards that it competes with.

Ive had a few swallow tail variations. But felt the rail was straight with the swallow tail
So just going with stockie but thinned down a bit

Nice,
Sounds exactly like what a proper mid should be. go fast, stay in the pocket, do turns and go vertical.
How big was your mates?
When is the maiden voyage LL?

Yeah, maybe... not my bag though but awesome for those that are into that style of board... Its a SB style so you need to pump for speed.
My style of mid is more of a mini glider, its makes it's own speed if you find the source of the wave and doesn't really love going vertical...
I reckon there's 2 distinct styles of mid... and both are awesome
My mates is a 6'4" Pin
I wouldn't call anything under 6'10 a mid length and thats pushing it, but that clearwater is a nice looking board, much the same as my Rusty Slayer but far from a mid

Umm. How a 6.1 x 20 x2 1/2 becomes a mid i dont know.
Perhaps a side shot .
Its a hybrid model. A good one for sdr because of it performance capabilities .
Im think it only was glassed midweek so im doing my best to stay of it.
My next board on the radar is a lost beach buggy 2 . Kable is raving about this one.
Even before i talked to him it caught my eye.
The debate is 6.1 at 32.5 lt or 6 at 31 lt.
The nomad at 32.5 pu will tell me where im at .
Ive been promised i will surf like this

Yeah, agree, it's a shortboard, just when Andy said a step up for shortboarders. I thought he has more talking his mates was more in the 7ft range.
Like the pic below.
I think traditionally / historically that's what mids are. Boards like the end of the lb era. That were designed to go faster, turn stay in the pocket and go more vertically. G&s magic model is my idea of the first boards of the midlength type. Seems these days though everything over 7 foot is called a mid..
Heard good things about the beach buggy, mate took one to indo and really liked it.
His 6'4" is actually his "step up", I don't know that labels are really all that important...
He normally surfs traditional thrusters under 6' that have much less volume... At a guess I'd say his 64 has similar volume/paddle to your 7'4" C-bucket as its pretty close to 7'7" Lizzy.
Love my 6ft 6" Sunova Soul. I think at least 44 Litres. I wanted a modern day board close to the size of an old late 70s Carabine single fin I used to ride. I'm not into boom crash opera surfing & obviously can't shred waves. But love carving & cruising along the top half of a wave & dropping down just before it breaks with fast down the line speed. Plus gliding over sections to the next break to make the most out of every wave I catch. Plus the high volume helps a weak paddler like me to paddle back up to 200 metres to do it again.
Tried different fin set ups & so far love the single fins.
Ha ha I was scrolling through posts from the top of the page and thinking...'should ask if anyone knows when the electric acid board test with Steph comes out' since the trailer was already available and get to the bottom of the page and it's right there. Right on AndyrooMac.
I wish she'd worn boardshorts so I could concentrate on the boards she was riding more...
Campbell Bros Bonzer?....any one tried one. Had a look at afew today.
The EGG in about 7'4 is where i'm At.
what u think?
Yep had a few bonzers and have a 6'10 speed egg atm which is fantastic, was after a 7'2 but scored this one second hand, great as a one board traveller and gets on most airlines no dramas.Mine is a bonzer 3, where did you check em out at and did they have many in stock at the size you're after?

Damn Steph can surf... Graceful, Beautiful... Radical, Elegant
That was pretty cool. Steph was a great choice.

I have a 7'6" that i purchased from Duncan in Hawaii last year....
i have found it needs some drive in the wave to really get going, not a small mush board for me unfortunately, just does not have the foam in it, even though it has the length

Checking them out at Rhino in Brookvale...they are the local supplier, shaped by Psillakis.
yes they have afew in stock...not sure but over 7 foot for sure. I'll ride one first and go from there.
