Sorry TB been busy all day. I did catch a couple of glimpses of the score at times. Ouch. Normally not too much to worry about as the Gabba has been a pretty straight forward pitch these last 15 years or so - win the toss - survive a few overs then bat for as long as you can on a dream pitch. Day two will be a bit quicker initially then will flatten out. Rack the score up. Need a big lead as by day 4 to after lunch that pitch will be breaking up and whoever bats second will be done for.
If you fail to get any wickets in day one you are totally screwed. With a big total to defend you can mount pressure on the team batting second even on the flat deck and stack the field. So it's all over already. Let's wait for the second test.
Now back to work and worshipping the oval shaped ball
