Does anyone know if it's illegal to drive with your surfboard within the car? I haven't got roof racks yet.
My car is a 2 door smallish type of car, and it placed from tthe boot across the back of the passengers seat, not touching the windscreen, Just don't want o get fined or lose licence points. Thanks.
Yep Victorian government has drawn up a new bill (law) to arrest people who disagree with the government & put them in "hotels" to keep an eye on them. It just keeps getting worse

Hey Louis,
In Queensland, this is the go:
www.qld.gov.au/transport/vehicle-safety/transporting-loads/how-to-transport-loads
... so if it's not hanging out, if it's not impeding your vision, and if it's not likely to maim anyone in an accident, you are right to go.
I imagine it's similar in NSW but gave up looking after I realised Gardening Australia was on. I had no idea bromeliads came in so many kinds.
Anyway... I say go for it.

Tradies carry all sorts of stuff in their cars without any drama from the law. I saw a woman with her dog on her lap whilst backing out of her drive today. I reckon the Vico coppers would throw the towel at her.
I put my 9'6 longboard in the car all the time.
I have removed part of the backseat so it will fit .Its so much easier to put board into the car than strapping it to Roofracks. Also allows me the lock the board in the car
