My fondness of the Takayama Scorpion is well known. The only drawback is the board feels.a bit sluggish to me.
I liked the Mct sumo except it lacked the versatility of the Scorpion.
My 7'6 Beesting is my most favourite board atm.
So the killer bee was born. This board will replace my longboards on the beachies. The double flyer Beesting tail will make it super loose but give it a heap of hold in the suckier waves. Underneath is pretty much a shortboard curves. Some nice chined rails up near the nose to keep the board from catching and help with my cheater fives.
Order form is done
The final shape is file complete
Harass and sometimes you will receive.... So the blank is in the machine for the cut.
Be a real pain in the arse and some harassment and you can get the cut blank finished.
The chined rails on the nose
The Beesting tail
Now some random board shape pics.
Looks good bro....not a fan of the double flyer's myself but it looks sick so far...I like the dims....where is the wide point?

hey tux i dont like double flyers on swallows, or shorter boards unless they are wide. I found on longer boards they just really loosen them up,and same for a real wide board which this is.
the wide point starts pretty much a bit before the mid point.... i will check today when its getting glassed
i
the more i held it yesterday the more i thought i will be riding this a lot more than what i had planned for it...which is really making me excited.
in no way will this replace my shorty....but sadly it will force me to leave a few of my others in the rack. Time will tell
I saw and held a Sumo last week. Just curious about what it DIDN'T do?
One of my most versatile boards had double flyers. Only ever owned two that had them and one was a copy of the other. But 6 people have had copies made over the last 14 years so on that experience I think double flyers can work good.
In my experience of the Goldy, that shape looks just about ideal as an all rounder. What sort of fin set up are you getting?
That Sir is a damn nice tail end on that thing, can see that being a hoot in all sorts. Enjoy, keep the pics comming!
Cooling looking stick Chrispy.
I had a 6.6x 21 1/2 x 2 3/4 made early this year....thruster, wide point bit forward.....it is the total go to board now.
My plan was to ride it in smaller, mushy summery stuff.....now days, change out fins and it becomes the everthing board ..love it
Hope the killer bee hits the mark for you

SDR and azza are clown. It's a kindergarten in there
Drip the rails were a bit boxy for my liking. It is faster than the Scorpion, but on the tak it's way easier for cheater fives. The boards look similar but are quite different in how they surf. The tak is more longboard and the Mct wants to be more shortboard but shoots itself in the foot being a two plus one set up imo. On a small board I don't like that setup.
The art was done today....Good effort aye mac
Originally I intended to get St George red.....then I told T Money to hit me with some colour

Cheers.
Just asking because they were both boards I had looked at as possible replacements for my Fountain of Youth when it dies. That shape completely changed my approach to surfboards as I have said before. And made me want to explore longboards and bigger boards.
That's pretty much how I thought the Sumo went. The nose was more pulled in than my board and it was just more performance orientated - which wasn't necessarily a good thing.
Paint job looks SIIII-IIIIIICCCCKKKKKKK!
I really hope its as good as the bsq for you chrispy
Some of the guys are saying its sick,I hope there are no virus's involved
More photos..
Please.
mate i have been good so far. i will post some after a surf tomorrow. The board has already exceeded expectations....i wont do a lacey and call it a keeper yet though
i will say, super fast and and easy for a cheater 5
Chines, deep double concaves and flyers...lots of flyers and a ball and socket round tail. Should be a great board. Colour work is eye catching to boot. Like to hear how it goes.
Looks great Chrispy I hope you complete the board build thread now that you have started it.
Getting close now - stoked he has gone this far
