I've been wearing Havaianas for a while but won't buy any more, I've snapped the front plug off on three pairs now.

I have a pair a Reef 'Fanning's' with the bottle opener on the bottom that have lasted really well and are very comfortable.

Sorry Havies are crap compared to the comfort of these,sure they are double the price but will last at least 3 times the thong and much more comfortable and I'd say better for you.

I had problems with finding decent thongs for years and quite apart from the breakage's there were other problems.

firstly, they were often useless at stopping any sharp objects going straight through them, but the thing i hated the most was how the sole wore so quickly and they became deadly on any wet surface.

The amount of times I almost went arse over tit while on the painted sections of a pedestrian crossing in the wet was scary.

Then about 4 or 5 years ago, I was passing through Target and they had these PipingHot thongs on special for $5 a pair, so I got a pair.






I walked out of the shop, threw my old thongs in the bin, put these ones on and walked off, I got about 50 metres away, turned around, went back into Target and bought every pair they still had, even if they weren't my exact size, I think I ended up with 4 pairs.

each pair has lasted me around 1 year on average, and I show them no mercy, gardening, bush walking, sharp volcanic rocks around woopi headland, long marches through the city, it does not matter, nothing has ever gone through them and the tread has never worn to a point where they have become slippery in the wet, I believe the compound in the rubber may also have something to do with them not getting slippery.

A strap has never broken and the only thing that finally wears them out is a delimitation between the black sole and the grey upper around the front. Even then I still squeeze a few more months out of them using contact adhesive and clamping them together.

Okay, I can hear you all saying "what a frigging tight arse, gluing his 5 buck thongs together" and you may well be right, but I did not do that with the first couple of pairs , when they got just a tiny bit worn, I just threw them away in a caviler, devil may care fashion. Then I came to the realization that I was not seeing them for sale any more and so for the next 3 years I started to make more frequent visits to Target and I getting a little worried.

Well finally I have started to see them in Target again and the pair in the photo are actually only around 4 months old and I paid $30 for them, I was more than happy to pay that amount because I now know how good they are.

Lately they have been on special for 20% off and whenever I see them in my size, I buy them, I now have a stash of 3 pairs and I'm still wearing the last of the ones I bought for a Lady Godiver 5 years ago.

well boys i fancy myself as a bit of a thong expert,, you wear them all year round up here.

I had them all ,,,,all the surf brands,,, Double pluggers,,,sports thongs,ect ect.

and the best by a long shot for $$$$ wear and comfort are crocs

I've tried other croc styles,forget them they don't touch these baby's

I just bought a pair of these sfter Cobras glowing report.

First ride report:
Very grippy, holds in well on a steep face.
Deck not as comfortable as my Havaianas but I deliberately chose the thinnest specs as I like a sensitive ride.
Construction looks first first class.
Very happy after the first outing and looking forward to many more hours of use.
