I just ran out of winter wax I got in a box of 10 off sanctum for $8 2 years ago. I like it, it smelt nice...luckily my order from surfstitch of cold water Mrs Palmers arrived yesterday that I paid 0.68c a block...I generally just go with whatever I can pick up cheap, should be right until next years winter sales

Bring back strawberry wax!!! Left a cake of it on the floor of my Beetle one day back in the 70s- melted all over the carpet (Beetles had heater vents running along box sections under the doors). Smelt good though. That stuff was sooo hard.

Sounds like theres some new waxes out on the market. Never seen or heard of Cream or tree hugger. Don't use it much these days and only have only to wax the front of the board. I've got half a block of Mrs Palmers that lives in the bottom of my wettie bucket.

With Cream wax no need for a base coat of anything different, just rub it on until the bumps form, job done!!

Sure it was the warm you tried? I know the cool/cold is very grippy in northern waters, boardies want to stick to your car seat afterwards

Gorilla Grip. Big round block sold in wax paper. Now I chase sex wax if it's available or Mrs Palmers.

You were lucky!! We were too poor to afford candles!!
We used to dig the wax out of the neighborhood dogs ears with a rolled up piece of borrowed newspaper ,
put it in an old baked beans can and light the newspaper underneath so we could melt a good block and keep us warm!
And when we were done we would use the charcoal ashes to brush our teeth!
Ohhh candle wax!!! We could only dream of such luxury!!!
