Timber Tak shaped by DT selling for 9k in Byron
BEWARE ! Authenticate, should be some sort of documentation, just saying.
Just finishing this off with last coat of varnish, made it at a weekend course at Tree to Sea in Mt Eliza, SE of Melbourne. Not real shaping if that's what you are after but a great way to end up with something that you made and can surf yourself. Pawlonia slats glued together and put over pre shaped polystyrene blanks, glued on and vacuum sealed, then you do the planing and sanding to get rails etc.. Fun weekend, will let you know how it surfs (it is the retro pig model at 9 6). Yes I will sell for $9K! see www.treetosea.com.au/surfboard-making-workshop
Looks unreal Dools!!
Must be stoked with that!
Agree that is beautiful
My latest wood board - great fun - template taken from a 60 s paipo and stretched a bit so I could paddle it - Huon Pine / red cedar over EPS foam ,epoxy finish - and yes $9000 would be nice
First surf of my pig this arvo on tiny one foot peelers at cosy corner aka kids corner this arvo. Perfect for those conditions light and super buoyant but somehow works great with the pinched rails, that combo has some magic! Paddled a dream into the tiniest lumps and had amazing trim and hold.... pleasantly surprised!!!
this is a 5'6 mini sim that I made - the fabric inlay was a favourite shirt that I laminated under the glass. good fun to make and ride - might be time to dust of the tools and make another in self isolation
Long time lurker and first post here.
Has anyone has built/ridden a board from the Periodic Surf Co in WA? I've watched a bunch of his videos and I'm interested in building one of his longboard kits.
Cheers Tim

Grant makes amazing boards
Thanks for the links, guys. Grant's boards are beautiful. I'm more interested in building my own at the moment so the idea of a well thought out kit appeals to me.
Mark Riley Balsa boards do a couple of kits. I've not ridden one of his boards, but have been to his workshop. I've been close to getting a kit myself a few times, but already have too many toys. Those that have ridden his boards reckon they're excellent, if you believe every thing you read on the interweb.... You can either build a solid balsa board, or a foam core. Plus you can get the kits as bits of balsa that you have to laminate yourself, or a partially finished and laminated kit. He's in the Sutherland shire of Sydney.
