Just finished and rode my 2nd backyard board. 5'9x21 epoxy twin fish. Pretty stoked with the results
Had few different hurdles to overcome such as a split stringer length wise. Not sure if this was the blanks fault or my ****e planer skills but in the end had to fill it with resin hence the blue resin tint through the middle ( also helps hide my messy glassing ) . Template from blending curves, alot of info from sway locks and everything else by eye/feel.

Any one else got some backyard boards they're stoked with?

couldn't tell you exact number sou'wester but it'd have to be some where near new board cost. but i went a bit over the top and got extra glass and other bits not needed so my next one would be half that.

I like your board. Why do you only mention lengthxwidth and no thickness?

Are you shaping in your backyard with no blue lights?

Again, boards looks great!

Thank you for the compliment gents!

The board is 5'9 x 20" x 2 3/4".

It goes great but it's not a true groveller.
I used it in Gnarloo, and all around perth.
It's given me a lot more confidence attacking the lip. It's fast loose and really fun! Lots of volume too!
The gf helped with the squeegee art on the deck.

Yes indeed Mick !

Hey Bertie - your boards are looking more like "off the rack' each time now. Nice work. Shrednaught - that is a great second effort. Especially epoxy - not the easiest to play with. Keep them coming.

^^^This looks interesting!
What are you thoughts on this? Tail flex characteristics, or just mucking around?

looks like a SUP.

Yes it is 6'4" 29" but can be a very good surboard for a big dude as well.

For a normal mate it would work the same, cut out the crescent tail from a small and thin bodyboard. That'all the difference.

To reply to Surfinboye , cant say exact characteristic but just saying it's feeling good. Depends of stiffness or looseness .
On the stiff one reinforced with carbon ( green board below), i got it's useful while pushing hard from back foot give more delay to avoid sinking front form of the board . Like an extra rocker when needed. Make carve deeper down bottom turn on fishes type of boards, too.

On loose one ( white board) as flexible as possible, giving more drive from the outline of the board as snowboarding in the fresh powder, and a very smooth ride even the chops effect disappears under the board. This is the best characteristic

I made a very special one for my son, was the first i did. Kind of hinges holding the flex part. 5'4" 20" but my son told me, very good glide and good carve but to much volume for him, was 30 liters to his 73kg and a good son as well , i presume
