Any recommendations for a repairer who can fix up this? Can it even be fixed??
Can rant repairers on here tell me if I'm just wasting my time getting this repaired?
Has carbon stringer up the middle and the two sides at the bottom. Not snapped all the way through, still together at the bottom,. It's epoxy/eps foam if that matters...-sigh-

That's a throwaway for me. But you could try katana off these forums. Or there are a few other recommendations if you search. But yeah, in the bin. It would never be the same.

I thought it's gonna be a thrower, just wondering if anybody had ever had a snapped board repaired and surfed it again..how come epoxy + carbon = (apart from this pic as an example!)
This happened after taking the day off to head down south and 30 mins in the water! Then dragged over the reef getting out. Not meant to be my day! 6 hours driving for 30 mins surf and a snapped board! Yeah thanks life!
Last time I went down I went down south I got a puncture in the bloody car park! Bad luck in threes? Arrrr sh1t what's next..

i had repaired a Stretch epoxy.....very similar snap to yours. Repair looked amazing couldn't tell the difference, but it did snap pretty much second or third session after, a couple of cm's down from original repair.

Its a shame it broke in that spot, further up would have been a bit more ideal for a repair. Bugger of a day by the sounds

Pitty as JR makes a nice board

As a grom I was learning board repair, working in a surf shop.

Fixed my first snap, new paint and all. This was my board, not a customer's. Snapped it again first surf back, a couple of inches below the original snap.

Never bothered again.

fix it yourself for a project and then give it to a grom. It looks like a good clean snap so it will not be too difficult a job. As others have said there is a good chance it will snap again but it may not for a while and in that time it might bring a whole world of joy to someone else

Nice idea Ted, always good to give and I something worth considering..
Had a plan to get it roughly repaired, spray some cool artwork on it and hang on the wall, maybe a painting of lefthanders - where I did it..

^+1 new recruit for a learner....Worst spot to snap a board...I've never kept a board after its snapped, its always been in the same area. If not multiple snapageez from some brutal SW beatings.

Yeah Darth, that board was sweet - best Ive had and have enquired about the grinder max..a new design that looks to suit me but with a few dimension tweaks on the 6'1, JR are pretty cool to talk to.

They didnt mention this but if you look closely on the pic of my board there is some aluminium tape on it where I cracked it slightly from a failed pig dog attempt and got smashed, never got it repaired and thats where the crease and eventual crack started yesterday - the weak spot. If I wasnt so lazy and got it repaired properly this may never have happened..lesson learned!

Jb - I actually phoned the Perth shop y.day as when I popped in the other week they had offers on JS boards but the offer has now expired. They told me about that tomorrow saying doors open at 11am so Im glad you gave me the heads up for 9am. Proably members first?..
Might even see you there!

Yeah I'll fix it. I'm kind of busy just now but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve.

I think Dave only makes them up to 7'0". You might have to get him to make you a custom.

Well, I looked up the board model on his website, if that's what you mean If I was getting one it would be about 5'8" x 19". I was extrapolating to your measurements.

For some one who claims to be the next KS you are very quiet about anything other than advise and ridicule

Huh? I'm a kook, ask doggie.

And I was just trying to help you add to your quiver of 50L boards. You're hurting my feelings with your spiteful tone
