Made a wooden one the other day. Haven't had a chance to try it out either , but keen to get it wet. For when it looks just straight dumpy and too short rides for a surfboard. Haven't used a handplane before, but sometimes when bodysurfing you just get the feeling that extra bit of help with planing on the face would be awesome.

Got a twinfin style outline. Some rocker. Some V in the nose and deep double concaves towards the tail (Can't see it easily on the photos so screenshotted some drawings below).

Looks like a great way to recycle the piles of broken boards that end up on scrap heaps
The 7 minute vid in reality would take me about 7 months

I often use one a local guy recycles from old skate board decks. They are good fun providing a lot of lift on the wave.
