What's the furthest north (NW WA) that folks surf before running into Croc country or stinger country in this fine state?

Trigg point? Only secret wave on the West coast isnt it? bahahah

Look out you might not be able to ask that otherwise people might start going north taking locals waves

that's an interesting question mate, Broome can have waves on a cyclone swell but technically isn't a surf destination. I reckon Barrow Island is the most north I've surfed but personally never planned a trip further than Exmouth for a wave.

There's a few spots on the islands around dampier, but most need a decent swell to work. The place has no crocs, but is full of tiger sharks and curious bronzies more than big enough to ruin your day.

Apparently Port Hedland is getting a wave pool. I'm guessing that would be kept fairly free of crocs.

For me personally, if I'm going further north than Exmouth in search of waves you can guarantee it means I'm on a plane to another country.

Doesn't Broome get waves when the tide changes?

That was a good one JB

You probably could build an awesome standing artificial wave using the huge tidal ranges in the North. ;)

It would have to be south of Exmouth as we have both crocs and stingers. So maybe somewhere just north of Carnarvon.

There aren't any waves north of Carnarvon.

Furthest North I have had waves is karratha but you will need a boat and some serious local knowledge if you go much past Canarvon....a lot of curious wildlife around as well
