Up until now I've been biting on the floaty backdoor in the hope of obtaining decent POV surf footage. It's been a bit fiddly, but I eventually got the angles right. Now the backdoor is starting to tear off. Time to get a decent product that's designed for what I need. I've seen the Dummy Mount and Pro Standard (clearly not trying to vouch for either/or here), am tempted to go for the Pro Standard because it's cheaper because I like the lack of bulk. Anyone got any suggestions for anything cheaper/other products in general? Seen some pros using various mouth mounts but never seem to be able to find out how they sourced them exactly.
Any help much appreciated!
Ive got the Pro standard but have not yet used it. No waves really of consequence worth filming. Seems all okay though, but sadly thats all i got
Even though they were late in supply, the company was great to deal with..

Oh come on - everyone wants to be 'That Guy' with a GoPro on a flat sunday morning.
Surfstitch have the grill mounts. If you order now, you'll get it the next day!

Yeah if you've got kids with you, then its not as embarrassing..
What about a chest mount Sparki? Just have to arch your back a bit higher when you're paddling.
I'd check gumtree too. Looks like plenty cheap knock offs on sale to save you a few dollars on whats essentially molded plastics

Definitely a possibility, but still would be a little uncomfortable, especially for longer sessions like I like to have. Also, I'd imagine unless you're standing bolt upright, the camera would be facing downwards. Not too handy!
The prostandard has been great I use it for surfing, kiting and mtb- once molded its a great fit and comfy and no issue when taking a dive in good sized surf or at speed kiting - used it here on a recent trip to the ments
Yep, went with the pro standard. Has been a great purchase so far! Some people think I look like a kook, but others marvel at simplicity and effectiveness of it. Has solved my issue straight up. Bit expensive for a bit of plastic when you think about it, but then again it feels like it's never going to break and you can tell effort has gone into design.
Yeah agree with Sparki and once you mold the bite to your teeth it feels like its never coming out - use it for kiting, surfing, mtb works a treat. Fast shipping

Ken was great to deal with too!
No lanyard with the floaty backpack you find it pretty quick if you loose it
i set the mold further forward in my mouth and it works really well - it should feel just like wearing a mouth guard -actually better as your front teeth aren't covered
I use a lanyard but rather than wrap it around my neck I tie it to the cord on my chest zip wetsuit
Never thought of that. Cheers LS. It'd save all the trouble I go through using a boogie boarding leash
