Hi Guys

Just got back from a great surf trip in Canguu and am now looking at another trip in late September 26th - 1st October.

I'm not too fussed as long as prices for flights arn't too bad and am not travelling huge distances. Indo is my best bet, any recommendations in indo? I might go back to canguu as had a great time there but I am aware that during the wet season the east coast is better. It's also nice to be have the option to travel to the other side of the island if the winds arn't great.

Cheers guys

The wet season is generally not until a bit later. If you enjoyed it at Canguu just go back there. Easy and cheap commute from the west. You can always head to the other side for a day trip or two if you fancy it and the winds look promising. Its not far. You can rent a driver and his vehicle for AUD $30-40 for the day. Lots of other spots you can tackle from there for the day as well. I can think of a few other places I would rather be than Canguu but my lips are sealed on here Enjoy.

If you want to do the bali thing sure, but why not head elsewhere in indo? There are plenty of indo surf travel books to guide you.

Trades are still honking which effects a lot of the south coast. DP is still on and Sengiggi can get surprisingly good, left and the right.

What are your thoughts on Lombok in late november? To be honest, DP is too heavy for me at this stage

Can get real good in November, Grupuk Ekas would suit (insides) and DonDon mellow take off good walling waves but if under head high be prepared to share with Yuri, Tony Nakajima, Adriano, Flávio, Hans etc etc the euros snowboarders and crazy crazy Ruskis include Germans, Norwegians and japs love it and they are very generous they love to share but only if they are in front of you gotta develop a deafness and a sore neck
stopped counting at Inside Gerupuk when I got to 56 a few Novembers ago

Been getting pics from a mate at Impossibles and it's been cooking and good crowds. Like 15-20 along the whole reef sorta crowds.
And yes my head hurts. The wound split last night and I woke up with a head looking like a tweenies first period and a ****ed pillow.

You're welcome. ****.

I think the question was for late Sept, not last week!

Have you guys been anywhere other than Bali???
Maybe you need to think outside the Bali Box!

Fiji? Samoa? Maldives? Nth Sumartara? Nias? Telos? Sri Lanka to suggest a few.
Banda Ache, a buddy goes there heaps and never misses, cheap as chips. Latter is better for that one.
Roti is pretty good as well.

World your oyster buddy just get on a plane and enjoy yourself

Pauly also said it was a 6 day trip, you really want to be doing that much travel on a 6 day trip when Bali's 4 hours and $200 away?

Being a family man I'm limited to a couple of lightning raids a year to Indo of usually 6-8 nights duration. I get good to very good surf and usually surf only with my travel compadre and a couple of other crew. Mind you I've spent some time sifting through many nuggets of poo to discover the gold too.
