Were you on the Katana? I was on a JS but didnt stay out long, injured my shoulder again. We were in an old landy, about 25-50m to the north of you.

I was almost going to ask if you were mocha

To whom it may concern, some swell and easterly conditions would be nice. Thanks in advance

Get a stand up paddle board. Makes everything more of a (enjoyable) challenge and makes a .5 foot wave incredibly fun. I'm sure the purists here will poo-poo the idea, but I had so much more fun that the average shortboarder here this morning. The easterly was definitely a friendly face.
On another topic, did anyone see what caused the commotion at Trigg today? First thing was one of the 4wds that was down at scarborough was doing a good 50-60kph on the beach, sirens blazing to get to Trigg. Then the jetskis and boats went a bit mental, gathering at the flags. I'm assuming someone got a watery lung...

It's a shame that surf spots get so overrun with people that it defeats the purpose of going surfing in the first place.
But it sounds like Mitchbat had the right idea to beat the hordes

Not so. I was in the water at 4:40 and surfed until 8 with 3 other guys. I think you might be confusing this with another wave that certainly would have had 30 guys. I took that pic when I got out

thick heavy swell DS today
swell bouys said 2m, but 16 sec period made it a different swell from 2.5m a few days ago (a few out in the water saying 22sec period, not sure what bouy/info they looked at)
consistent ++

caught a few peoples out, including me
lefties - funky, too low tide, regular bubble breakers
mind you, dave mac had a few epic barrels, but also noted he had pushed off the bottom 3 x in the first 1/2 hour
everyone getting drilled!

umbies the same

north point looked very clean and tidy thou

Took the 9 out at 'never you mind' to get away from the 6's. Solid
