I am trying to find some fun in my surfing, as it seems I have lost the stoke. I have been looking at getting a soft board for fun in summer waves. Prices seem to vary between $180 - $500

I am 100kg and can surf. (meaning I can paddle, take off, stand up and turn) 60 years old, not really fat, just barrel shaped

My pu boards are 7' to 8'.

I thought maybe a 7' softy.

Anyone with experience in them?

Is an ebay cheapie worth it?

Or just get a fat summer surfboard?

Looks like fun to me, I need some fun.

Cheers

Don't buy a softie buy a proper mal , learn to nose ride, play with fins, glide along knee height ripples all summer while people on soft tops cork around in the strong easterlies

The ocean is already full of people who take this whole surfing thing much too seriously...buy a softie with a tonne of foam and have a play, many laughs and enjoy mucking around in the ocean. When the waves are good you can get your game face on and battle it out with the other contenders for whatever it is they seem to be contending for.
