Did you notice the picture of the giant great white at the Lufra bar Mick - apparently caught at that reef out the front .
Last surfed that spot in the picture in June about 3 years ago - was a bit fresh - had a fire roaring on the beach trying to get warm after the swim .

Thanks for the write up Mick - Mrs and I are heading there for 15 or so days late December... so this was helpful to start building the potential itinerary. Cheers!

Epic write up, on the bucket list for sure .
Looks like you could easily do three or four weeks with the scenery

Cheers guys, yeah definately worth a visit even if you didn't surf. Its a beautiful place

Tassiedevil, yeah I did see that. That was a big bugger. I'd love to go fishing in Tassie, it must be so good. Can imagine June would be bloody cold. Thats cool that you can light a fire on a beach so close to civilization. You'd have to be off the beaten track to do that in WA. A ranger would be fining you within the hour at most beaches I reckon. We used to make fires on Mettams beach (Perth) all the time in the 80's through the winter & when we slept down on the beach. Good old days haha

Lost at Sea, would love to have done that, next time for sure m8

GPA, 15 days will be great. You'll have time to do the things we didn't. Like checking out the SE corner of tassie. Hiking to Shipsterns Bluff & checking out the forest railway in Queenstown.

I was at that beach earlier in the year, school holidays, 25 people in the water before 9am - I very nearly went home dry, but went out on a peak with a dozen others, and as is so often the case, found most weren't getting anything, and got more waves than I could poke a stick at.

Yeah I guess it was kinda crowded when I was there too but was easy to find a spot to myself on the inside middle of the beach
