Awesome work man!

WRT the leaky plugs, why not just mount them in a block of lightweight wood inside the board so that there is no potential for them to leak? if you were accurate with positioning and used only minimal material weight gain would be minimal.

Not my handiwork Jake. A mate has been making them. Ive only seen him ride one in typical summer pus but it looked to go pretty good

They really are a sweet piece of work. Is he locally based or down south? Does he build for personal use only or for sale?

Same as Chrispy would love to see one un use..

I've made a couple of wood boards in the past, a 5'10 fish off a skip fry design I found years ago and a little 5'6 mini sim.
made from paulownia and glassed with epoxy.
the fabric inlay on this one was an old favourite shirt that I laid under the glass and it came up pretty cool.
I've helped a couple of guys in freo to get started making their own. if anyone is interested its a great hobby.

A few images of some boards we have made in the last 12months.... A lot of labour to build each one but in our opinion definitely a far better board that will last a lifetime if cared for. Riding wood is such an awesome feeling! I'm loving the fabric inlay on the mini sim!

Also, this is an interesting article that went out a few weeks ago touching on how wooden boards may be making a little come back.
