HeyAll.We're a uni teamdoing a project on improvingthe oversized baggage handling for surfboards. we've come up with a product and was hoping for some feedback. The description is pretty quick.

Would be awesome if you could have a read of our prototype bag features and a four question 1 minute survey at the bottom.

heres the page:

Virgin Airlines is mentioned in our project - it was all before covid happened.

thanks heaps

Also in case you miss the 4 question survey link at the bottom here is the url for the google form forms.gle/GqfZKJbvYCjoergt5

Hi Dieter , nice looking boardbag.

Is there a phone app for the sensors?

Can you locate board through GPS coordinates
if airline lose it or if it gets stolen or if it comes off your roof racks?

Any other airlines going to get on board?

Can your misses/girlfriend track you?

Where is it, and the components made?

Best of luck

Hey Oz surf

We were thinking of a phone app but wanted to keep it simple. Some of the customers we spoke to said they might get anxiety looking at the data and some said they'd like to see it.

We opted not to have GPS for two reasons: 1. Privacy, we wanted the product to just keep the bag safe in our hands. Airline baggage tracking is pretty good in this day and age. We've been told by our airline partner they can usually track your luggage when it goes missing. 2. Low power consumption + cost - usually GPS would require a sim card and would need to run constantly.

We'd like to get the bag made locally but depends on our bag partner and the cost. Most cheap electronics are made overseas unfortunately. If the project were to go to the next stage we'd like to keep it all local (QLD) - even if it was bag construction. Even better as we'd have easier local control over quality.

Thanks for filling it out and good questions. I actually forgot to add the reason for no GPS in our feature set.

Cheers
Dieter
