Anyone noticed the surge in popularity of surfing longboards without legropes in crowded point breaks ?

Yesterday at the Superbank was seriously crazy with boards washing through the lineup every 5 minutes. I eventually got out after one too many came washing through.....

Noosa has been just as bad over the last weekend. Those f@ckers will kill someone one day......

I go without ... once or twice a year when there's so much weed it stops you in your tracks even without. That generally coincides with no-one else being dumb enough to be surfing. I still hate the feeling though, and end up dialling right back

I go without in heavy weed or when its so gutless the board doesn't get washed in.
Otherwise, pinch the wash ups and drive them down the beach.

Empty conditions no worries !
I'm talked overcrowded Superbank and Noosa.
You'd have to be a seriously inconsiderate wanker.....

Had a few at the local lately, it was interesting to see one washed up over the exposed reef last week. It didn't end well for the board, I just don't get it.

Agreed. It's extremely selfish and even capable surfers stack it occasionally.

I got a stray longboard in the shin once and **** it hurt. If it has been to the temple it would be game over. A loose longboard could easily kill a kid.
