wa gov gives nod to building perth metros best wave. coz it will be for most wankers. its all here at www.aventuur.com. the following is taken from the website.

A surf park for Perth.
Aventuur has been selected by the Western Australian Government to deliver a world-class surf park in Cockburn. Our $80 million surf park is planned to be the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, sitting on a 5.7 hectare site at Prinsep Road in Jandakot, adjacent to the Kwinana Freeway and the Cockburn Central train station. Featuring a next-generation Wavegarden Cove surfing lagoon, boutique surf hotel, health & wellness centre, co-working offices, functions and event spaces, performance academy, beach club and restaurants, our integrated development will provide Perth with an innovative surf sports, recreation, leisure and entertainment hub just a short drive south from the CBD.Our dedicated team is stoked to bring a surf park to Cockburn, because the West deserves the best.

Guaranteed perfect waves, year-round.
Surfing is a deeply ingrained part of Perth's beachside culture, but access to consistent, high-quality waves is limited.Marine hazards, along with increasingly overcrowded surf breaks, can be intimidating for newcomers, beginners and casual surfers. And unlike many other sports, surfing is reliant on the right conditions (tide, swell and winds) being present during daylight hours, and at a time when you're free to ride waves.Aventuur's surf park proposal will overcome these challenges by delivering incredible surfing experiences to surfers of all ages and abilities, within a safe, controlled and supportive environment that is open day and night, year-round.Over 25 different waves can be created within the park's surfing lagoon, from knee-high whitewater for children and beginners, through to powerful barrels and steep pointbreak-style waves for experienced surfers. The surfing action can be closely observed from elevated pathways, decks and landscaped areas, enabling surf coaches, parents, friends and park guests to gain a unique perspective of the lineup, breaking waves and thrilling rides.

Unique adventures for everyone.
Whether you're a lifelong surfer, just starting out, or enjoy chasing new adventures, Perth's surf park will offer something for everyone. If you love riding waves, we'll support your lifelong journey in surf by providing personalised coaching, fitness and surf skate programs, surfboard shaping courses, regular boardriders club rounds and cultural events, including outdoor surf movie nights and photography exhibitions. We'll also offer a range of unique adventures for non-surfers, from yoga and meditation retreats to foundational training programs, live music and cultural festivals, professional surfing competitions and charitable events. For the ultimate private function combining incredible surf experiences, modular spaces and delicious food and beverage, part or all of the surf park can be hired for group events, corporate offsites, brand launches and major events.

Coming soon to Cockburn.
Subject to all requirements being met, we're aiming to commence construction in late 2022, and open to the public in 2024.Aventuur will now work collaboratively with the Western Australian Government to finalise all commercial arrangements, including agreeing a long-term ground lease over the site. The company's project team will then determine all development approval requirements and set out construction milestones. Aventuur will engage with community organisations, local stakeholders and project partners to ensure its supply chain delivers the maximum benefit to the Western Australian economy. We'll create around 300 jobs during construction, and 100 full time equivalent employees once operational. In delivering the surf park, we'll also create new opportunities for tourism, active recreation, sports development and community engagement in the City of Cockburn, Perth, and Western Australia."

It would be difficult to charge people to surf anywhere below the high tide line. Who's gonna stump up 80mil without returns? This pool is a cash making machine. Shame it took so long. Would have made a sick quarantine hotel.
