I haven't Wave Sailed in 12 months, just Foiled
Been meticulous with my foil maintenance but have neglected other parts of my gear
Kinda figured more upright stance, smaller sails with less sail pressure there wasn't the need. Fortunately decided to change my universal tendon yesterday. Just as well as the old one was about 90% cracked through.
Tendons are so sketchy in my opinion. I was worried when I heard Chinook stopped making the hourglass joints, though now they are back. I'll likely go mechanical for my next one too.
+1 on mechanical for foiling, even better with a Euro pin. Then I can easily ditch the rig outside a shore break if needed.
I don't mind a tendon for regular sailing though, I use the ones which are clear and have the safety strap inside them. My only complaint if getting them foot caught in them if I forget my base pad.
+1 for mechanical, but with US Cup. I heard Euro pins break often.
My cup works for years without issues. I also can unplug my mast any time on water to adjust downhaul, even in waves.
