After reading about adding an extra bolt to the SS wings to stop wobble I have added one to my SS Infinity 84 wing.I thought it might be handy to document how I made the (very DIY) template...

Using a piece of clear plastic to make the template on the fuselage. (yes it's a takeaway / takeout lid).
The final, new hole is drilled as a 4mm pilot

Using the plastic template to mark and drill the new hole.

Drilling the pilot hole.

After this I drilled the hole to full width and finished with a countersink.

It was incredibly easy and made me wonder why SS don't supply the wings with this fitting in the first place. The increased rigidity of the wing to fuselage connection is huge (I suspect I won't really even need the middle two bolts).

The wing was solid carbon (at the drilling point) so no need to waterproof etc. I am tempted to do the other hole too, at the end of the fuselage, but I'll see how this works out on the water first*.

I also have a Time Code 68 (A great pair of wings that cover any windstrength!) and I'm already thinking of doing it to that one too (even though it has no wobble) and never using the larger M10 (?) bolts. Which would make changing wings much faster (with only one hex key).

The standard SS connection with the bolt through system (in pos B) is really pretty inferior to other brands.

*Caveat: I've only just done this and haven't tried it on the water yet!

I have done the same to my Infinity 76, TC68 and Infinity 65. Plenty of hours on the water and never had a loose wing. I still put the cap in but just nip it tight, haven't stripped threads on one yet. Simon
