With the Coronavirus in effect, I will not be going back into the office until potentially September, and then it is on as as needed approved basis. So now I don't have to spend USD 479 dollars a month on a train ticket into NYC. Cah-ching!!

I want the new Slingshot wings and they come in the following sizes:

3.2m // 4.0m // 4.4m // 5.4m // 6.4m

I am a big dude- 6'4 and 205 dry. We typically use bigger sails for regular windsurfing in my area with the normal high wind lucky days in the spring and fall.

Since I am tall, I am thinking the 6.4 might be the ticket. But also considering the 5.4 for getting out when the winds are higher, and sacrificing the lower wind range. Initially I will be on a Levitator 160 until wing specific boards come back in stock. I have the Slingshot 84 and 99 foil for windsurfing.

Any thoughts on this? I saw a video where a smaller lighter guy used a 4.4 from 12 knot to 30+... its all so new...

Wingding forum is on SUP FOIL section.
4.0 and 6.4.
Remember how windy 9/11 was.

Im exactly your size, and a proficient windfoiler. In practice, I use the same size wing as I use a wavesail. I can do 4.9 for 12-25 knots (for the averages), so a 5m F-One Swing. Last years Slingshots you generally had to go one size up compared to the Swing, this years' look like they have more low end grunt than last years', so maybe you can use them the same size as the Swing / wavesail (based on the profile I can see on the pictures). I think the 5.4 would be a lot nicer to use than the 6.4; I personally already think the 5.0 I use is big and prefer the 4.2 in practically all conditions except the ultimate low end, and that is with the lightest wing on the market!

I was under the impression that 80% of windy days in summer-fall was 5-15 mph.
9/11 was 30 mph gusts.

Can't really help you regarding sizes but I'd recommend you do your research on wings brands first.
Wing foiling is huge over here and we see sh...loads of them on the water.
I will probably get one soon too...

feedback on slingshot wings is terrible on the beach, inflatable rear end of panel makes it very unstable and a Pita to lift from the water as the wing doesn't empty itself due to the inflated extremity.

popularity here is :
1 ozone wasp
2 duotone (with the boom)
3 naish /Fone/takuma
4 gong
last slingshot

waiting for the starboard wings to arrive, will probably be good and well thought as they never rush before releasing a product.

hope this helps

How could Slingshot get it so wrong? They were the earliest and biggest supporters of foiling. Are you referring to the V1 vs the V2 wing that is about to be released?

well.... sh...happens
if the V2 has not been released my guess is the slingshots seen at the beach are the V1's
checked your link they've indeed removed the inflatable part on the end on the V2

Slingwing V2 is completely different from V1

V2 has no inflatable trailing edge, no windows, much lighter and better lower end torque.

Handle layout is different but keeps the Y handle in the front.

is "no windows" is a benefit apart from the weight ? Already had a few near misses with wingers who couldn't see me behind their black ozone wasps !

Did you get a chance to try the V2 ?

No windows because SS say it's a) weight reduction b) no one uses a window?? which I don't necessarily agree with.
the 5.4 and 4.4 should be arriving in the US in a few weeks, the other sizes after that. I have the tech information but haven't tested the V2 yet.

For the SS wing V2 what size would you pick for beginner rider 73-74kg if I consider starting using it at 12-15kts?
Thank you

I've got a Wasp 6m, SB Supercruiser and I seem to need about 15kts to pop up onto the foil. My board is all wrong for this, so I think with the right board and with some skill development that threshold will come down

A 4.2 if you're capable, a 5.0 if you aren't. Im 92kgs and do 10-11 knots with 5.0 F-One Swing and low aspect surf 2200cm2 foil (F-One Gravity) or high aspect pump/wingfoil 1780cm2 foil (F-One Phantom). 100L wingfoil board (F-One RocketWing). In 14+ knots I like a 1400cm2 low aspect wing with 4.2 more for the extra control & manoevrability.
