Anyone who's read my couple of posts is aware that I like the old boards, and that I've 'scored' a couple of obsolete ones for free, which I'm recycling as potential longboards for my aging, and largely forgotten surfing skills.
In yesterday's post I posted pictures of a stunning Wind Action single fin board I'd just been given. and as an afterthought, a single pic of another one I'd got at the same time, a BIC Electric Rock, once again in very good condition. In the last 24 hours I've had 2 different people ask if I want to part with it!
So the short answer is yes, I'd be quite happy to part with the BIC, and I don't want to sell it either. Taking money for it wouldn't be in the spirit I received it in, so here's what I was thinking.
I'd like to swap it for another 'obsolete' foam and fibreglass board, one which, like the 2 I've got so far, the Farrelly and the Wind Action, shows its surfing heritage. I've been assured this sort of board is 'worthless' within windsurfing ranks, so I don't feel greedy in suggesting a swap for one of them for what I've been told is a 'vintage' 88-94 era windsurfer that still has some serious relevance as a slalom board to the sport today.
I'm actually delighted that the BIC is still worthwhile owning as a windsurfer, to be quite honest, when I saw it I was thinking it was destined for a beachside caf?? wall or maybe me grabbing a canoe paddle and taking the grandkids for a spin around the Broadwater on it!
I live on the Gold Coast, in Southport, so 10 minutes off the M1. I'm not in a rush, although I got caught by my wife sneaking it out from under the deck to take some more pics of it, so now she knows it's there...
If anyone's interested, here's some more pictures of the board. There's only one ding (repaired) in the entire board, and a number of scratches in the purple finish. It's a single fin, and I do have the 3rd pink foot pad, plus the straps that were attached to it.
Finally Someone who share my love for the old boards. Unfortunately I dont have anything that matches what you want. Awesome board though. Mine are all the same style as the BIC.
