Banksia Beach sand bank low tide . First time sailing here .
Got the FKD cranking
Nobody wanted to play today ,
Had to play with myself .
Big boards can fly ! what wind speed you reckon when these shots were taken and what sail and fin did you have?

Top 5 runs were in the 23kt range . 23.89 kt was my best .
8.6 m NP Evo 6 ,
51cm pointer fin.
Id say 18kt gusts in top pics , 15 ish in bottom pics.
Light wind fun, awesome! Have you Pulled off a planing step jibe on the big girl yet?
Im working on it . It turns great for a big girl , way better than i thought . Im just getting used to flat water and flipping the sail earlier ,Bad habit of flare jibing for safety in rough water from where i came from.
Hey Imax. What tide does that bank come out. Will join you next time it's on
Id think it would start at 0.5m and under.
Its a dirt / sand boat ramp . 4WD
I just google earthed it and its under trees and hard to see .
Its at the end of Sunderland drive on Solander esplanade. Down about 100m.
trust me , its there.
Hey Jayson and Mike, follow Sunderland Drive to where it hits the esplanade at Banksia Beach and there's a park and a boat ramp just to the South of that T intersection.
Another great day at Banksia Beach . ( White Patch )
Five of us today.
Got a PB for myself and the big FKD , who says she needs cutouts
Im obsessed now trying to make her go faster , i just got to get to 30 . Then ill ride more appropriate boards.
Im starting to like this speed stuff.
Summer northerlies will bring you the Magic 30 Imax!! Thanks for the hospitality today, can't wait to see the FKD speed
Nice to meet you two... just sort out the wind for our next visit... you had the 'gusty' dial too far up!
I was on Falcon 106/ Warp 7. Was perfect for the gusts. Locals were on 8.6 and big boards. It's a westerly so just make sure you have a floaty board, what ever sail you choose will be right at some point...
The locals give a great safety briefing. PM Imax, he will surely be around
Tides might be getting a bit late on the weekend for the sandbank to show , unless you like riding when the sharks come out . You could get an hour in .
Might be better giving Sandstone Point a go during the day. Or if you like it rough , Bongaree.
Did Bongaree in a SW with out going tide once lol not pleasant. Might try sandstone instead. I'm the same build as Mikey, 111 is my floaty board.
