Just sharing a couple of board rescue projects I completed this winter:

1) Herbie is a hybrid raceboard made from a discarded Windspeed ProAm. Mods include chopped tail, tuttle box, repositioned footstraps, longer centreboard and RS:X mast track.

2) Speed Racer Mach 5 is a Freerace Windfoiler made from a discarded RS:X (213cm x 84cm).

Videos of first test ride of each board below:

What is the weight of the Windfoiler (Mach 5)?

Top marks on the boards and videos, nothing like making and riding your own creations

Original weight is 15.5 kg.
What you've done is probably the best thing you could do for RSX boards ( other than burn them)
I reckon you.might be getting messages from RSX owners. I hope it performs better now than it originally did.

Burning RSXs keep the mozzies away. Throw a chunk on your next camp fire. Gives sausages a road tar smokey flavour.

Cutting 9cm out of the middle and just under a meter of length got rid of some weight.
The RS:X hull has 6mm PVC foam on bottom and about 3 or 4 mm PVC on the top.
I doubt production windfoil boards have 6mm PVC on the bottom.
However a scan of several current production windfoil boards with similar volume of 140-150L seem to be about 9-10Kg.
Starboard claim the IQFoil board (196L) is 11.25Kg +/-150g, but that is before they get any water in them
